Draw simple shapes in Motion
Use the Rectangle tool or the Circle tool to create uncomplicated shapes in the canvas. Employ the Line tool to draw straight lines in the canvas.
Draw a rectangle shape

In Motion, click the Rectangle tool in the canvas toolbar (or press R).
The Rectangle Tool HUD appears. (If the HUD isn't displayed, press F7.) To arrange the color, outline, and roundness of the rectangle before y'all depict the shape, apply the controls in the HUD.
Note: Y'all tin also edit the rectangle colour, outline, and roundness after the shape is drawn.

Drag in the canvas until the resulting rectangle is the size you want, then release the mouse button.
To draw a perfect foursquare, press and hold the Shift cardinal while you drag. To describe the rectangle from its middle, press and hold the Option fundamental while you elevate.

Adjust the size, roundness, feather, or rotation of a rectangle shape

In the canvas, double-click the rectangle shape.

In the canvas, Layers list, or Timeline, select the rectangle shape, and then click and concur the transform tools in the canvas toolbar and choose Edit Rectangle.

Adjust corner roundness: Drag the roundness handle in the upper-left corner of the shape.

Adjust softness: Drag the shape'due south outer border away from the rectangle to feather outward, or toward the heart of the circle to feather inward.

Adjust rotation: Drag the rotation handle.

Depict a circle or ellipse shape

In the sheet toolbar in Motion, click and agree the shape tools pop-upward menu, and so choose Circle (or press C).
The Circle Tool HUD appears. (If the HUD isn't displayed, press F7.) To adjust the color and outline of the circumvolve before y'all depict the shape, use the controls in the HUD.

In the canvas, double-click the ellipse shape.

Adjust rotation: Elevate the rotation handle.

Adjust position: Elevate anywhere within the shape.

Depict a line

In the canvas toolbar in Motion, click and hold the shape tools popular-up menu, then cull Line.
The Line Tool HUD appears. (If the HUD isn't displayed, press F7.) To adjust the color and width of the line before you draw it, adjust the controls in the HUD.
Notation: You can too edit the line color and width afterwards you draw the line.

Drag in the canvas until the resulting line is the length yous want, then release the mouse push button.

Change the style of the starting time or end of a line
You tin customize the end points (end caps) of the line to add arrows, bevels, and more.

In Motion, select a line shape in the canvass, Layers list, or Timeline.

In the Style pane of the Shape Inspector, click the Starting time Cap or End Cap popular-upward menu, then choose None, Foursquare, Round, Bevel, or Arrow.
When y'all cull Pointer, additional length and width sliders become available that allow you to further customize the arrow cap.
